Hello, my name is Michael Velecky. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. I have been married for 20 years and have three wonderful children.
Our closest relationships have the potential to be the most fulfilling part of our life. That doesn’t make them any less confusing! This struggle led me to specialize in the complex relationships that make up marriages, couples, and families.
I began doing this work with my B.A. in Pastoral Ministries. As I spent more time meeting with couples and families, I realized I was not equipped to deal with the complicated problems impacting families. This realization led me to change directions and focus on getting my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy.
My greatest pleasure is walking with couples through their struggle to communicate and connect, working with the relationship to find new ways to communicate, hear, and connect.
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. (C.C.P.A.)
