Privacy Policy

Pivot Marriage Counselling is the counselling practice of Michael Velecky in Regina, Saskatchewan. This policy explains what information pivottherapy.ca collects, why, and the choices you have. I follow Canada's federal privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When you visit this site

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace uses cookies (small files stored by your browser) to run the site, keep it secure, and remember your cookie choices.

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, the site also uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous visit statistics. These include the pages viewed, how long people stay, the type of device and browser, the general location (such as city), and how visitors found the site. I use these numbers only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. I don't use them to identify you.

This site also uses Google Ads conversion tracking. When you visit, Google may set cookies that record whether you arrived from a Google ad, and a click on a "Book a Session" button is counted. This helps me understand whether advertising is working. I don't receive your name or anything you enter in the booking system. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy.

When you contact me

If you email or call me, I receive whatever you choose to share. That is usually your name, email address or phone number, and your message. I use it only to reply to you, answer your questions, and arrange appointments.

Booking a session

The "Book a Session" buttons take you to SimplyBook.me, a separate online booking service. The details you enter there are collected through SimplyBook.me so your appointment can be scheduled, and SimplyBook.me's own privacy policy also applies.

Please keep health details private

Email and website messages are not a secure place for sensitive information. Please don't send details about your health, mental health, or personal situation through email or the website. A short note with your name and the best way to reach you is plenty. We can talk about the rest in person or by phone.

Counselling records

This policy covers the website only. Information shared during counselling is handled separately, under my professional duty of confidentiality and applicable Saskatchewan law. I'm happy to explain how client records are kept when we meet.

How your information is shared

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers that help run this site and the booking system (Squarespace, Google, and SimplyBook.me), or when the law requires it. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada.

Your choices about analytics and ads

You can choose "Decline" on the cookie banner to turn off Google Analytics. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, install Google's free opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to stop Google Analytics on every website you visit, or manage how Google uses your information for ads at myadcenter.google.com.

Keeping your information safe

I take reasonable steps to protect the personal information I receive and keep it only as long as it's needed. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent at any time. If you have a concern I can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
